Stomach surgery, called Abdominoplasty, or commonly called "tummy tuck", is a procedure made to prevent loose abdomen and extra skin, reshape and firm the abdomen and fix stretch marks. The procedure suits men and women. It is best for over 40 year old women that don't intent to have children any more or patients, men or women, after massive weight loss that have extra skin hanging.
here are two kinds of stomach surgeries:
* Full surgery, which takes about 2-5 hours. The surgery includes a surgical
cut on the lower abdomen and a relocation of the navel. The cut is about
20-30 centimeters long.
* Partial surgery, which takes about 1-2 hours. The surgery includes smaller
incision and the skin removed under the navel so it is not relocated.
The stomach procedure is made under general anesthesia. After the stomach surgery the patient might need to stay for observation even for a few nights depending on the surgery. Recovery from the full surgery takes about 6-10 weeks, during this time the patient should rest and not work or overdo. It is also best for the patient to have someone with him for a few days after the stomach surgery. There will be small scars from the surgery. That will fade in time and will be totally gone only after about a year. It is also possible to have an extended surgery which includes more body parts, such as thighs and also lipid suction.
The stomach procedure is usually very successful and there shouldn't be any complication. But like in every surgery there might be: infection, bleedings, and blood clots. They are all very rare and treatable.
